Service crash via reverse-cookie mapping buffer overflow
Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in mod_proxy in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.0 through 2.4.67 allows remote attackers to crash the proxy service. The ProxyPassReverseCookieDomain and ProxyPassReverseCookiePath response-rewriting path mishandles a backend-supplied Set-Cookie value, but Apache has not disclosed the specific faulty memory operation. Exploitation requires a configured cookie-rewrite directive and control or compromise of a proxied backend; the reported consequence is service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
