Authenticated code execution via missing administrator check
Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026
Improper authorization in Chamilo LMS 1.11.40 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through lang.ajax.php. The translate_portfolio_category action relies only on api_protect_course_script(true), admitting course-enrolled accounts without an administrator check. Any student, teacher, or DRH account enrolled in a course can reach the endpoint; the downstream unsafe operation that turns access into code execution is not disclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
