Stored XSS via unrestricted UBB URL scheme
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Stored XSS in the comment module in emlog before 2.6.8 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted UBB URL tag. The parseUBB function in include/lib/common.php substitutes the URL-tag capture directly into an anchor href without restricting its URI scheme, so a javascript: value survives HTML escaping. Execution requires a reviewer or visitor to activate the stored link, exposing browser-accessible data and actions in that user's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
