Authenticated file placement via unchecked branch code
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Path traversal in Wertheim SafeController Software 6.15.8328.28014 allows remote authenticated users to store files in unintended locations. SafeSystem.Web's Create action maps and inserts Branch.Code without validating traversal sequences, then UploadCustomDocuments passes that code to Path.Combine. The settings_branches_manage privilege is required, and writable destinations are limited by service-account permissions and the 40-character branch-code limit.
