Cross-branch box activation via unchecked controller identifiers
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Wertheim SafeController Software 6.15.8328.28014 allows remote authenticated users to access other branches. The WebMessageBroker accepts controller and box identifiers in an authenticated ActivateBox WebSocket message without restricting the controller to the account's assigned branch. Low-privileged branch credentials and a valid controller identifier are required; successful requests can activate boxes outside the authorized branch.
