Code execution via unchecked PPPoE password length
Published Mar 1, 2026 · Updated Mar 1, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda F453 1.0.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to crash httpd or execute code via a crafted AdvSetWan request. When wanmode equals 2, fromAdvSetWan passes the user-controlled PPPOEPassword value to sub_3C6C0 without checking its length, overflowing stack buffer s. Access to the management interface with low privileges is required; successful exploitation interrupts routing service or executes code on the device.
