Navigation source-priority manipulation via unauthenticated PUT
Published Apr 2, 2026 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Missing authentication in Signal K Server before 2.24.0-beta.1 allows remote attackers to change navigation source priorities via HTTP PUT. The PUT /signalk/v1/api/sourcePriorities handler in src/serverroutes.ts assigns the request body to sourcePriorities without authentication or validation, activates it, and writes it to disk. Network access to the server is sufficient to persist changes across restarts and control which active GPS, AIS, or sensor source supplies navigation data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
