CVE-2026-33949Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via backslash traversal

Published Apr 1, 2026 · Updated Apr 1, 2026

Path traversal in @tinacms/graphql before 2.2.2 allows remote attackers to overwrite files in a TinaCMS project through GraphQL mutations. The getValidatedPath regex fails to treat backslashes as separators on Linux and macOS, so a crafted relativePath passes validation before file operations normalize it outside the intended content path. Network access to a running GraphQL API is sufficient, and overwriting configuration or build files can interrupt service or execute commands when those files are later used.
