Browser-session script execution via unencoded reportID
Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026
Reflected XSS in OpenEMR before 8.0.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a victim-submitted form. custom/ajax_download.php reads reportID from POST, concatenates it into $zipFile, and echoes the result into the response without output encoding. Exploitation requires an authenticated attacker to induce a victim to submit the crafted form, confining execution to that victim's browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
