Admin escalation via unvalidated database restore
Published Mar 27, 2026 · Updated Mar 27, 2026
Privilege escalation in Ella Core before 1.7.0 allows remote authenticated users with the NetworkManager role to gain Admin access. The restore endpoint accepts any structurally valid SQLite file without validating its records, allowing a tampered database to replace production state. NetworkManager access is required; successful exploitation grants Admin access to user management, audit logs, debug endpoints, and operator identity settings.
