CVE-2026-33881Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Workspace-admin code execution via unescaped environment variables

Published Mar 27, 2026 · Updated Mar 27, 2026

Code injection in the NativeTS executor in Windmill before 1.664.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in workspace scripts. The executor in backend/windmill-worker/src/worker.rs interpolates each environment-variable value into a single-quoted JavaScript preamble without escaping quotes, allowing a value to terminate the literal and become code. Workspace-admin access is required; injected code runs as each NativeTS script owner and can read that user's token, outputs, data, and worker files.
