CVE-2026-33720Network attack vector

OAuth token theft via skipped state ownership check

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Incorrect authorization in n8n before 2.8.0 allows remote attackers to capture victims' OAuth tokens through a crafted OAuth flow. With N8N_SKIP_AUTH_ON_OAUTH_CALLBACK=true, the callback handler omits ownership verification of OAuth state and saves the victim's tokens to an attacker-controlled credential. The non-default setting and victim completion of the OAuth flow are required; stolen tokens let the attacker execute workflows as the victim.
