Authenticated PII disclosure via missing endpoint authorization
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Missing authorization in Chamilo LMS before 1.11.38 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve other users' personal data. The GET_USER_INFO_FROM_USERNAME branch in main/webservices/api/v2.php accepts a login name and returns the matched account's ID, name, email, username, and status without checking for platform-administrator privileges. Any authenticated account, including a student, can query usernames to harvest directory data; the flaw does not write data or interrupt service.
