Unauthenticated account enumeration via pre-captcha status checks
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
Observable response discrepancy in AVideo 26.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to enumerate accounts through password recovery. The objects/userRecoverPass.php endpoint checks user existence and status before captcha validation, returning distinct JSON errors for nonexistent, inactive, and active accounts. No authentication, valid captcha, or user interaction is required, and the disclosed data is limited to valid usernames and account state.
