Unauthenticated privilege escalation via signup permission parameters
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Missing authorization in AVideo before 29.0 allows remote attackers to self-grant upload, streaming, and meeting permissions. The API plugin's set_api_signUp method copies user-controlled permission and email-verification parameters into account globals that User::save persists without requiring a valid APISecret. Exploitation requires the API plugin's registration path and a solved CAPTCHA, and it grants only the selected account capabilities rather than administrator access.
