Pipeline credential theft via malicious release artifacts
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
Malicious code in Aqua Security Trivy 0.69.4 and related GitHub Actions allows attackers to steal CI secrets during workflow execution. Compromised release credentials let the attacker replace Action tags; injected entrypoint.sh and action.yaml code reads runner memory and credential files, encrypts the contents, and sends them to attacker-controlled infrastructure. Exposure requires executing a compromised binary, image, or mutable Action reference during the documented windows; affected jobs expose accessible pipeline credentials and files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
