Local file-policy bypass via unmonitored operations
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
Missing authorization in ClearanceKit before 4.2 allows local users to read, alter, or delete protected files via non-open operations. The opfilter system extension subscribes only to AUTH_OPEN, so rename, unlink, link, create, truncate, copyfile, and readdir bypass FAA evaluation. Any locally running process with user-level privileges can evade active managed or user-defined rules without a denial, exposing protected contents and metadata or destroying files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
