Stored XSS via unsanitized line item descriptions
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
Stored XSS in Invoice Ninja before 5.13.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts when a victim views an invoice. Invoice line item descriptions reach PDF preview and client portal rendering without passing through Purify::clean(), leaving denylist-bypass payloads executable. An account able to create invoices must store the payload, and a client or other user must view the invoice; execution can expose that viewer's session and data.
