Authenticated command execution via profile name interpolation
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
OS command injection in PinchTab before 0.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute PowerShell commands on Windows hosts. The findPIDsByPowerShell routine interpolates a profile-derived needle into a PowerShell -Command expression after escaping only backslashes, leaving metacharacters active. Exploitation requires an API token with administrative-equivalent instance lifecycle access and runs commands only with the PinchTab process user permissions.
