Sender restriction bypass via empty-list policy downgrade
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.3.28 allows remote authenticated users to bypass sender restrictions in group chats. Google Chat's applyGoogleChatInboundAccessPolicy and Zalouser's processMessage pass an empty sender list to policy resolution, which changes a route-level allowlist to open instead of preserving it. Exploitation requires membership in an allowlisted Google Chat space or Zalouser group and grants interaction with the configured bot, including its exposed commands.
