CVE-2026-33550Network attack vector

MFA weakening via reusable short TOTP secrets

Published Mar 22, 2026 · Updated Mar 22, 2026

Weak TOTP secret management in Alinto SOGo before 5.12.5 allows remote authenticated users to undermine MFA protection. The totpKey path derives a 12-character secret from userPrivateSalt and reuses it after TOTP is disabled and re-enabled instead of storing a new 20-character secret. Exploitation requires control of an account permitted to change TOTP settings and user interaction; the bounded consequence is reduced protection against credential compromise.
