CVE-2026-33509Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted reconnect script

Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026

Improper privilege management in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev97 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through its API. The set_config_value() endpoint lets SETTINGS users assign reconnect.script to any existing executable, and try_reconnect() passes that path directly to subprocess.run(). The account needs the non-admin SETTINGS permission, the selected file must exist and be executable, and resulting programs run as the pyLoad process user.
