Browser script execution via unchecked callback URL
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
DOM-based XSS in Ory Polis before 26.2.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted login callback URL. The pages/admin/auth/login.tsx page passes the untrusted callbackUrl query value directly to router.push without rejecting javascript: URLs. A victim must open the link and reach an authenticated login state; the browser then executes code in the Polis origin, enabling data theft and unauthorized actions.
