Remote command execution via shell substitution bypass
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
OS command injection in World Wide Broadcast Network AVideo 26.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands on encoder servers. sanitizeFFmpegCommand() removes several shell metacharacters but leaves $() intact before execAsync() embeds the command in a double-quoted sh -c string. Exploitation requires a valid encrypted payload and corresponding key material, and commands run with the web server process's privileges.
