Unauthenticated file read via unconstrained path join
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Path traversal in the SiYuan kernel before 3.6.2 allows remote attackers to read files accessible to the server process. The /appearance/*filepath handler joins the URL path to appearancePath without verifying that the result remains beneath that directory, then serves it with c.File. Authentication middleware excludes /appearance/ requests, so no credentials are required and exposure is limited only by the process's filesystem permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
