Account access via reusable TOTP codes
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Improper authentication in Vikunja 0.13 through 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to start a second session with a captured TOTP. ValidateTOTPPasscode verifies the submitted code against the user's secret but does not record successful use, so it accepts the same code again during its 30-second window. Exploitation requires the victim's valid username, password, and current TOTP, and grants the second session the victim's authenticated access.
