Protected data disclosure via skipped pointer checks
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Parse Server before 8.6.53 and 9.0.0 through 9.6.0-alpha.41 allows remote authenticated users to read protected data. The LiveQuery WebSocket event path accepts a CLP result that defers pointer checks without verifying readUserFields or pointerFields against the subscriber. A valid account, enabled LiveQuery, and a pointer-protected class are required; matching REST queries remain restricted while unauthorized real-time updates are disclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
