File disclosure via incomplete SQL AST validation
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
SQL expression validation in affected Grafana OSS releases allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files from the server. The AllowQuery parser walks an incomplete SQL abstract syntax tree, so functions hidden in skipped ORDER BY, WITH, LIMIT, or WINDOW fields bypass its allowlist. The attack requires a signed-in account and an instance with the sqlExpressions feature toggle enabled; disclosed impact is file confidentiality only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
