CVE-2026-33361Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Image disclosure via predictable partial-file XOR

Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026

Weak image protection in Meari IoT SDK firmID=8 allows remote attackers to read baby-monitor images from collected .jpgx3 files. The mrxor_picdata function in libmrplayer.so XORs only the first 1,024 bytes with a repeating 16-byte MD5-derived key calculated from the device serial number and fixed data. Exploitation requires a .jpgx3 artifact and its serial number; decoding discloses the full image without changing device data or availability.
