Snapshot disclosure via public nonexpiring object URLs
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Missing authorization in Meari Alibaba OSS Hosted as observed in April 2026 allows remote attackers to read motion-alert snapshots. Meari uploads alert JPEGs to public OSS buckets and exposes direct object URLs without signatures, tokens, authentication, or expiration. Possession of an image URL is sufficient for network retrieval, exposing only the camera view captured when motion triggered.
