Unauthenticated file upload via attacker-controlled API fetch
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Missing authorization in Canto for WordPress 3.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload files via copy-media.php. The directly accessible script accepts attacker-supplied API host and token values, fetches a file from that host, and saves it through WordPress without authentication, authorization, or nonce validation. No account or user interaction is required, but WordPress MIME controls constrain uploads to file types that the site permits.
