Account reactivation via unconditional password-reset status change
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Improper access control in Vikunja before 2.2.0 allows remote attackers with reset-token access to reactivate disabled accounts. ResetPassword writes StatusActive after a successful reset without checking whether an administrator previously set StatusDisabled. Exploitation requires control of the disabled account's email-delivered reset token and restores that account's former access.
