Unauthorized Zendesk ticket creation via missing topic check
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Discourse before 2026.1.2, 2026.2.1, and 2026.3.0-latest.1 allows remote authenticated users to ticket inaccessible topics. The Zendesk ticket-creation flow accepts a topic reference without first checking the requesting moderator's topic-view permission. Exploitation requires a moderator account and an enabled Zendesk plugin, and it creates an external ticket based on a topic hidden from that moderator.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
