Service interruption via uncharged replacement expansion
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Harttle LiquidJS before 10.25.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt services through crafted templates. The replace_first filter passes attacker-controlled replacement text to String.prototype.replace but charges only the input length to memoryLimit, leaving expanded output uncounted. Reachability requires an application to render attacker-supplied Liquid templates; chained $& expansions consume memory and block the Node.js event loop.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
