DAG-author RCE via unrestricted class import
Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 7, 2026
Deserialization in Apache Airflow before 3.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code in Scheduler and API Server processes. BaseSerialization.deserialize() passes a class path from a serialized DAG trigger directly to import_string() without restricting the imported class. DAG-author access is required, and successful exploitation runs code with the Scheduler or API Server process privileges across Airflow’s DAG-processing trust boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
