Authenticated code execution via unchecked servlet request access
Published Apr 8, 2026 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform before 17.4.8 and 17.10.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server-side code. ScriptXWikiServletRequest.getRequest returns the underlying servlet request, which performs no security checks, to Velocity scripts without requiring programming right. An account with script right can escape Velocity sandbox restrictions, run arbitrary Python scripts, and obtain full access to instance data and operations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 17.0.0-rc-1, < 17.4.8
- Affected versionversion=>= 17.5.0-rc-1, < 17.10.1
