Managed-server command execution via unsanitized grep input
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
OS command injection in Roxy-WI before 8.2.6.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands on managed servers through its web interface. The find_in_config route inserts the unvalidated words form value inside a quoted sudo grep command and sends it over SSH for shell execution. Any authenticated account that can reach the endpoint and select a registered server can break the quotes with shell metacharacters, gaining root-level command execution on that managed Linux host.
