Unauthorized content moves via missing permission checks
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Authorization bypass in Pixel & Tonic Craft CMS 5.3.0 through 5.9.13 allows remote authenticated users to move entries across sections. The move-to-section action passes attacker-selected entries and destination to moveEntryToSection() without enforcing endpoint, per-entry, or per-section authorization. Control-panel access alone is sufficient to alter content placement and disrupt routing or editorial controls without permissions for either section.
