Command execution via unsandboxed Jinja template rendering
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Server-side template injection in Dynaconf before 3.2.13 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through crafted settings. The @Jinja resolver renders attacker-controlled configuration values with a full Jinja2 environment, exposing Python internals that reach os.popen. Jinja2 must be installed, and attackers must influence a settings source; @Format object traversal can also disclose process secrets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
