CVE-2026-33152Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via unthrottled Basic authentication

Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026

Improper authentication-attempt restriction in Tandoor Recipes before 2.6.0 allows remote attackers to guess passwords through REST API endpoints. The default Django REST Framework configuration enables BasicAuthentication without DRF throttling, while AllAuth's login limit protects only /accounts/login/. Possession of a known username and network access to any authenticated API endpoint are sufficient for unlimited password attempts, exposing the account to takeover.
