Unauthenticated document modification via REST XAR import
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to create or update wiki documents through an unauthenticated REST request. The WikiResourceImpl.importXAR method accepts POST /wikis/{wikiName} and starts a XAR import without checking authentication or ADMIN rights. Any network client that can reach the REST endpoint can overwrite or add documents in the selected existing wiki, while the published impact does not establish code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
