Local code execution via untrusted pointer dereference
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Untrusted pointer dereference in Microsoft Word allows local users to execute arbitrary code through locally supplied input. Microsoft has not published the affected Word component, the malformed input, or the operation that causes the untrusted pointer to be dereferenced. Local access is required, but no privileges or user interaction are required; successful exploitation compromises the Word process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
