Higher-tier group access via client-controlled plan finalization

Improper authorization in Discourse before 2026.1.3, 2026.2.2, and 2026.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain higher-tier access. The subscriptions finalization endpoint trusts client-supplied plan and transaction values instead of binding them to the lower-tier purchase created earlier. Exploitation requires the plugin, Stripe, and a purchase entering the 3-D Secure incomplete-payment flow; the consequence is unauthorized Discourse group membership and its configured benefits.
