Authenticated message disclosure via unchecked DDP method
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Improper access control in affected Rocket.Chat server versions allows remote authenticated users to read messages from inaccessible rooms. The autoTranslate.translateMessage DDP method accepts a client-supplied IMessage and calls translateMessage without checking Meteor.userId or room membership. Any authenticated workspace account with a target message ID can retrieve content from private channels, direct messages, and E2EE rooms.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
