CVE-2026-32987Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via reusable bootstrap setup codes

Published Mar 29, 2026 · Updated Mar 29, 2026

Privilege escalation in OpenClaw before 2026.3.13 allows attackers with a valid setup code to obtain operator.admin access. The verifyDeviceBootstrapToken path in src/infra/device-bootstrap.ts retained a successful token record and merged roles and scopes on later verifications instead of consuming the token. Exploitation requires a valid setup code and a second verification before approval; the replay widens the pending device's scopes but grants access only after pairing approval.
