Code execution via unbound mutable script operands
Published Mar 29, 2026 · Updated Mar 29, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.3.11 allows remote authenticated users to execute rewritten local scripts after approval. The system.run approval planner recognizes only a hardcoded set of interpreters, so tsx and jiti script operands receive no file snapshot and skip pre-execution revalidation. Exploitation requires access to an execution surface, the ability to replace the referenced script on disk, and operator approval; modified code runs as the OpenClaw runtime user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
