Local credential misuse via failing-open fallback
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Credential fallback in OpenClaw before 2026.3.11 allows local users to select unintended remote credentials through CLI helpers. The local-mode resolver bases remote fallback on resolved values, so configured but unavailable gateway.auth.token or gateway.auth.password SecretRefs appear unset. Exploitation requires low-privilege local access and an unavailable local SecretRef; no server-side gateway-authentication bypass is confirmed.
