Account takeover via concurrent reset-token reuse
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Password-reset TOCTOU in Parse Platform Parse Server before 8.6.48 and 9.0.0 through 9.6.0-alpha.27 allows attackers to replace a user password. The password-update path validates a reset token separately from changing the password and clearing the token, so concurrent requests can both pass validation. Exploitation requires an intercepted token and a race with the legitimate reset request; both requests report success, but the attacker's password can take effect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
