Authenticated server crash via unchecked envelope allocation
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Denial of service in Bishop Fox Sliver 1.7.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the C2 server over mTLS or WireGuard. The socketReadEnvelope and socketWGReadEnvelope functions allocate an attacker-specified length before verifying the envelope signature, while concurrent yamux streams multiply allocations approaching 2 GiB each. Valid implant credentials or a compromised implant are required; exhaustion triggers an OS OOM kill, interrupts active sessions, and can impair colocated processes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
