Authorization bypass via untrusted tool metadata
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Authorization bypass in the OpenClaw ACP client before 2026.2.23 allows remote authenticated users to auto-approve tool calls. resolvePermissionRequest and shouldAutoApproveToolCall trusted caller-controlled toolCall.kind values and permissive read-like names instead of requiring trusted core tool IDs and cwd-scoped paths. A malicious or compromised ACP tool invocation and low-privileged network access are required, enabling read-class operations without the expected interactive prompt.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
